Victory – 1 Jn. 5:4
This is what the world is influenced by; we can’t get away from them. Everywhere we turn we see and hear the evidence of these things. This is how the living and message bible breaks the world down.
It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on.
But when you follow your own wrong inclinations, your lives will produce these evil results: impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, spiritism (that is, encouraging the activity of demons), hatred and fighting, jealousy and anger, constant effort to get the best for yourself, complaints and criticisms, the feeling that everyone else is wrong except those in your own little group—and there will be wrong doctrine, envy, murder, drunkenness, wild parties, and all that sort of thing.
Now I thank my FATHER and my LORD and Savior JESUS The CHRIST that I am an Overcomer because CHRIST JESUS overcame the world for me. This is why I can truly know to say this and live my life this way and all those who are in CHIRST JESUS can do the same. When our flesh begins to war against our spirit we lean on JESUS who is the author and finisher of our faith. Now I’m not writing that sometimes we don’t stumble and fall because we do but the key is to pick ourselves right back up again and not be like the actors on the television ads who claim that they’ve fallen and can’t get back up. We can and must get back up and place our focus right back on JESUS. Our faith is not in us or any other person, place or thing I don’t care how much we like, love or respect them. Don’t take your focus off of JESUS; HE is the one who gives us complete and total victory in our faith walk and beside HIM there is no other. Every person, place and thing has its own place and that place is not where JESUS is supposed to be in our hearts and mind. JESUS is to be first place above all. We have the victory, live in the victory, walk in victory and speak victory; we are overcomers.
