Giving; it’s a wonderful thing to do at all times. When we give; we are not expecting anything in return. Giving comes freely from the heart.

GOD spoke a great deal about giving. GOD is a giver and HE expects us to be just as HE is. Giving can sometimes leave a bad taste in our mouths because we believe that we must always go out and buy something to give to someone.

I say; let’s put on the brakes and back the train up a few years. Remember when we were kids; how we made or did something nice to bring a smile into someone’s day? It was no pressure. We would think; what will he/she want and we would either make it or do it. Then we got older and we began to buy things and give them to others. Only to complain later about how much it cost; all you got from them was this thing or you got nothing. Our attitudes were changed and corrupted somewhere. We need to get back to the basics when things were nice and easy.

Give of yourself:

  • What does someone you know have need of that you can assist with?
  • Who can you give a helping hand to?
  • What can you give away?

After all GOD loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7-11

If you think that you have nothing to give. Give of yourself. Feed the hungry; help those who are in trouble. Your light will shine out from the darkness, the darkness around you will be as bright as day. Isaiah 58:10

If you give even a cup of water to a follower of JESUS, you will be rewarded. Matthew 10:42

This is not about giving 10% of your gross income from all that you earn full time or part time or as a financial gift. However, you would like to give financially.

Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38

Sacrifice daily to those who are in need; believe me it’s worth it.

Oh how we plan with anticipation about our future. We plan for tomorrow; the years to come and so on. There really is nothing wrong with planning for our future. Yet we spend so much time looking ahead that we don’t concentrate on the now; the today. We can’t live in the past; that’s history. We can’t live in the future; because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring, (James 4:14).

Our future is in GOD; our presence is in GOD. If anything we need to look forward to what GOD has in store for us day to day. When we do make plans for our earthly future; make the plans knowing in full that you may not see tomorrow on earth. Realize that the future is in GOD’s hands and nowhere else and in nothing else. Acknowledge that our future is according to the will of GOD and not ours. (James 4:15)

Our future is not in horoscopes because there is a horror at the end of that scope. Our future is not in tarot cards or palm reading. Our future is not in psychics. We must remember what happened to people who indulged in such behaviors. 1 Samuel 28:3; and why do you think that Saul had done such a thing? Acts 16:16 uses the word [divination]. The word divination means to practice telling of future events or to discover hidden knowledge by occult means. Acts 16:18 is a clear picture that if telling the future was such a great thing or from GOD Paul would have never done what he had done. So when you begin to worry about what your future holds; remember this. I (GOD) know the plans HE has for you. They are plans for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Don’t worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:34

And when you plan for your future remember this. The LORD SAY, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you”. Psalm 32:8

YOU [GOD] guide me with YOUR counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Psalm 73:24

Have any of you ever asked yourself these questions?

  • What am I doing that’s worthy?
  • How can I be a better person?
  • Why am I here?

I would like to think that some of the questions that we ask of ourselves and of others are really questions about the fruit that we bear.

When we remember what GOD has commanded us in Genesis; when HE said to man; “be fruitful and multiply”. We think that HE was speaking about populating the world by having children. Not necessarily so. I believe that HE was also speaking about grow abundantly in HIS spirit and populate with many fruit.

Here is an example: An apple is just one seed. However, we are not looking with the eye of GOD; we are not seeing its ability to populate. Yes, the seed is one; however, the seed has many apples within it that will come from one tree. Did you catch that? One seed; one tree; many fruit!

It’s the same with us; one seed Jesus. Then there is us; one person. We are to bear many fruit which comes from the fruit of the spirit.

Simply put; you can’t plant an apple tree and get apples; oranges; lemons and so forth. One seed many fruit.

We come from good seed and we are to produce good results; which is beneficial and profitable. We are to abound in the spirit of GOD and with living in HIS spirit we are abounding in HIS fruit. From this we are bearing fruit abundantly. We will produce an abundant growth.

Let’s take a look at Galatians 5:22; notice how it begins with “the fruit of the Spirit”. One Spirit many fruit. If you took the time to look up each word found in this scripture you will begin to notice the abundance of all nine words. It is no longer looked at as a fruit; you should now see an orchard. For those of you who like me love to study and dig into the marrow of a subject. You will find that to better understand why and who we are to be in our character and integrity. You will want to delve into the deepest recesses for greater understanding. Look at this scripture. The godly will flourish like a palm tree. Psalm 92:12

If you have never seen a palm tree; how can you understand the flourishing of it?

Another scripture: Vine and branches; John 15:5

Why does JESUS call HIMSELF a vine and HE considers us to be branches? A vine winds itself around an object and holds fast with tendrils; which is used to support.  It’s a stem which in this case informs us that we are in a line of descendants in a family.  We are branches because we come from the main stem; a member of JESUS family linage.

This is why we want to be used by GOD. The godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. They are transplanted to the LORDS own house. They flourish in the courts of our GOD. In old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. Psalm 92:12-14

I AM the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in ME, and I in them, will produce much fruit. John 15:5

Friend; Friendship:

friend, friend’-ship: In the Old Testament two words, variously translated “friend” or “companion”:indicating a mere associate, passing friend, neighbor, or companion;  indicating affection natural or unnatural.

In the New Testament also two words:”a comrade,” or “fellow,” and philos, suggesting a more affectionate relation.

Philosophic as well as sentimental and poetic expositions of the idea of friendship. Notable among these are the Old Testament examples. Abraham, because of the intimacy of his relations, was called “the friend of GOD”

(2Ch 20:7; Isa 41:8; Jas 2:23). “YAHWEH spake unto Moses face to face, as a man …. unto his friend” (Ex 33:11). The romantic aspect of the friendship of Ruth and Naomi is interesting (Ru 1:16-18). The devotion of Hushai, who is repeatedly referred to as David’s friend (2Sa 15:37; 16:16), is a notable illustration of the affection of a subordinate for his superior. The mutual friendship of David and Jonathan (1Sa 18:1), from which the author is made to say, “The soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul,” is another example. Again in his lament for Jonathan (2Sa 1:26), David says in highly emotional tones that his love “was wonderful, passing the love of women.” Elijah and Elisha form a unique illustration of semiprofessional affection (2Ki 2).

In the New Testament, Jesus and His disciples illustrate the growth of friendship from that of teacher and disciple, Lord and servant, to that of friend and friend (John 15:13-15). Paul and Timothy are likewise conspicuous (2Ti 1:2).

Pr 18:24, “and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Pr 27:17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend”. The honesty and frankness of genuine friends are set forth in the maxim, Pr 27:6 “Faithful are the wounds of a friend”.

Oh how sweet it is! Many will never know the true meaning of freedom until they have realized that they are held captive by something.

You can lose your freedom voluntarily by committing a crime and going to jail. We all are prisoners to sin and none of us realize that we have no freedom until we come to know JESUS and HIS salvation for us.

Freedom from wrong choices and sin is wonderful. Most people think that the Bible is full of don’ts when actually it’s full of freedom to do or to have.

Freedom allows us the right to Enjoy; all the privileges and rights of citizenship or membership. Freedom is the right to Enjoy; frequently at will. The power to make choices without constraint.

JESUS CHRIST has given us freedom. All we need to do is believe and act on that freedom. We have liberty by which JESUS has made us free. We don’t have to sin and the older that our walk with GOD is the less we sin by choice or by ignorance or by the old nature. We no longer are slaves to the desires of our flesh; we now flow in the fruit of the Spirit where we have righteousness by faith in JESUS. Our freedom and faith are worked out in us through love.

My friends know that you no longer need to feel as though you are trapped and that there is no way out. Everything that you desire to be free of is available to you. Prisoner, come out in freedom. Isaiah 49:9

Sin no longer is master over you; you become the master over sin; today and now. Live under the freedom of GOD’s grace. Romans 6:14

We are all prisoners of sin, so we receive GOD’s promise of freedom only by believing in JESUS CHRIST. Galatians 3:22

We all want to be forgiven; however, we are not all ready to forgive. Why is that? It stems from when Adam went against GOD and he became sinful man. Adam wanted forgiveness and he got it. The problem was that what he did could not be undone. He felt shame for his actions. The Bible does not tell us if Adam sinned anymore and I like to think that he did not. However, he witnessed the result of sin through his sons Cain and Abel. Remember the very first murder that took place? We personally do wrong and we want to be forgiven. Someone does wrong against us and we are not so forgiving. What if GOD said in HIS heart; that we deserve all the punishment that HE can muster up against us for being sinners. We could not handle GODs wrath and if HE left us to our own devices there may not be a planet left. Look at the world around us today; look at what sin is doing. GOD did not want this for us. GOD is a loving GOD and HE forgives. When we accept HIS, SON, JESUS we are washed and cleansed. We are also given a brand new nature that keeps us from purposefully sinning. We are propelled to ask GOD for HIS forgiveness not once but often. Though we choose not to sin daily; we are human. There are times when we have evil thoughts or we may say something not loving or we act out in a way that is not pleasing to GOD. This is why we go to the throne of GOD asking for forgiveness often. Peter asked JESUS this question: “LORD, how many times must I forgive my brother (in JESUS; the faith) when he sins against me? Is the limit 7 times? JESUS answered Peter: 70 times 7. Matthew 18:21-22

That’s 490 times per day. Now I’m not sure if the translation is really towards just our brothers and sisters in the faith. So I use that practice towards non-believers as well. My reason is because sisters and brothers in the body of CHRIST do not make a practice to sin against each other. Non-believers; however, sin in and out of sleep. Sometimes they do things on purpose and sometimes not. Let me ask you a question; when a member of your family who is a non-believer do anything to you that comes against you; do you hold a grudge and cut them off or do you forgive them and continue to love on them? We can’t pick and chose GOD does not pick and chose. GOD loved the entire planet so much that HE gave HIS only begotten SON to die for sinful man. No One was left out. When we forgive we are actually giving a pardon we end the debt against that person. That is what GOD did for each and every one of us. That is what we are to do to others. Don’t hold on to an offense let it go. What better way to get back at the person who came against you than to forgive them. It’s for your benefit more so than theirs. Forgiveness frees you up to continue to walk and live in the blessings of GOD. Let us not block our blessings there are too many of them and we want to experience as many of them on earth as we can before we cross over from earth to sleep waiting on the resurrection of JESUS. That is if HE does not come back while there is still breath in our bodies.

Seek GOD’s forgiveness. Confess sins to HIM, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9

If you think that you have done way too much for GOD to forgive you; think again; it’s not true. GOD wants to forgive you and HE wants to be close to you. The LORD is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. Numbers 14:18

GOD alone will blot out your sins for HIS own sake and will never think of them again. Isaiah 43:25

Don’t forget; forgive others. Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember the LORD forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13

Fear is the total opposite of faith. Fear Is Not from GOD. We fear the unknown; that which we are not certain of. Yes there are uncertainties in life; however, GOD tells us that we are not to fear or worry. It amazes me how we all are so ready to believe whatever the enemy lays before us and not take GOD at HIS Word. It’s not our fault that we are the way we are; however, it’s not an excuse either. Fear became a part of us as the sin curse was applied to our lives through Adam’s disobedience. However those of us who has accepted JESUS and made HIM our SAVIOR and LORD are no longer under the curse. Fear must be destroyed from our lives and replaced with faith in all that GOD has given to us. For everything that we fear GOD has a Word for that topic. I hate fear because it drives people to depression and depression can drive a person to self murder (suicide).

Fear is evil and causes anxiety.

When we read our Bible we find the word fear as to how we are to be with GOD. This was poorly translated. Yes, I agree that we should fear GOD with an awesome reverential fear; however, GOD is not to be feared as in dread. GOD is a loving GOD; everything; HIS very essence is that of love. There is a scripture in the Bible that clearly puts fear towards GOD in great perspective. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear HIM who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

Do you see that? You have the ability to kill another or yourself. People have the ability to kill you and others. However, it’s only you who has the choice as to where you spend your eternity. Choose JESUS and you shall live forever with HIM; not destroyed but in bliss.

Chose the enemy as your lord and you will be destroyed by GOD in hell along with your lord.

This psalm is a very sweet reminder of why we must get rid of fear from our life. It’s only in parts (suggest that you read in its entirety).

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army may encamp about me, my heart will not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. One thing that I desired of the LORD, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to acquire in HIS temple. For in the time of trouble, HE will hide me in HIS pavilion; in the secret place of HIS tabernacle; HE will hide me; HE will set me high upon a rock. Now my head will be lifted up above all my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of Joy in HIS tabernacle; I will sing praises to the LORD. When YOU said “Seek MY face,” my heart said to YOU, “YOUR face, LORD, will I seek”. Do not hide YOUR face from me; do not turn away YOUR servant in anger; YOU have been my help; YOU are the GOD of my salvation. When my father and mother turn their backs on me; it is YOU, LORD who will take care of me. Teach me YOUR way, LORD; lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. I would have lost heart; unless I have believed that I would see the goodness of YOU, LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; be of good courage; and HE will strengthen your heart.

How encouraging are those words. Shifting gears a wee bit here. I know and understand that there are dangers all about us; so what. GODs Word dwells within us; if not read HIS Word daily. I don’t remember scripture by book, chapter and verse. I don’t know if that’s a bad thing; however, I do know what thus say the LORD. I don’t know what time or day I was taught right from wrong from my family either. I do know that because of my teaching it’s evident in my life and I don’t go against my upbringing. When we face unforeseen dangers remember that GOD is the light of your salvation; what, who or why are you in fear? When you feel alone and you are vulnerable; don’t be afraid, GOD is with you; don’t be discouraged if GOD is your GOD. GOD will strengthen you and help you. GOD will hold you up with HIS victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Be convinced that nothing can separate you from GODs love. Life, death, angels or demons; fears about today or worries about tomorrow. Not even the powers of hell can separate us from the love of GOD. Romans 8:38

Confront what you fear; replace that fear with faith. GOD came in the flesh as JESUS to save us. We are to trust in HIM and not be afraid. The LORD, GOD is our strength, HE has given us victory. Isaiah 12:2
