REGRETS

I’ve got loads of them. You do too! I regret that I had to lie at such an early age just to keep from getting beat daily. I regret stealing brownies from the neighborhood convenience store every time I had to go buy something. I regret having had a talent to say bad things to people in their face and because I was so nice they never caught on. I regret not being a virgin on my wedding night. I regret that my husband and I were already parents to our wonderful son on our wedding night. I regret that I had two horrific marriages. And so on. Let me get serious; there are things in my life that I have done and said that I’m not proud of. However, I was able to learn from those mistakes and now I can use my life to help those who are or have had some of the same rebellious moments in their life. You know people say that experience is the best teacher; I say hogwash because everyone does not survive experience. For example, If you smoke at a gas station when there are signs posted everywhere “DO NOT SMOKE” and you do while pumping gas or you are close enough that a simple single cinder from your cigarette causes an explosion. I don’t think that you will learn from this experience because you will be dead. The only person I think will learn from your idiotic experience will be the witnesses. Who can you teach when you are dead? Jails are filled with people with regret. People with aids/hiv are full of regret. Alcoholics & junkies are filled with regret. Young girls or women who are not virgins and have a baby or babies are full of regrets. Now we can nurse our regrets; we can rehearse our regrets or we can ask forgiveness from GOD; allow HIM to wash us clean of our past and use what we have experienced to pull someone else from the hell that we are familiar with. GOD will never hold our past over our heads; HE will not remind us of the sins we committed against HIM. GOD does not point fingers at us; so when our past comes back to haunt us we must realize that it’s our enemy from hell that tries to prosecute us again for what we have already been acquitted of. That glove no longer fit! We are no longer guilty; we are free! Thank YOU, JESUS for YOUR saving grace. JESUS took our regrets and they were nailed to the cross.

It’s human for us to look back over our lives and wish we had done things differently. That’s just apart of life and had Adam not sinned and we became the heirs of his rebellion and disobedience we would not be looking back filled with regrets. Check this out; it’s too awesome.

LORD, if YOU kept a record of our sins, who, LORD could ever survive? YOU offer forgiveness that we might learn to respect YOU. Psalm 130:3-4

We have been made right in GOD’s sight by faith; we have peace with GOD because of what JESUS our LORD has done for us. Because of our faith, JESUS has brought us into this place of underserved privilege where we now stand; and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing GOD’s glory. Romans 5:1-2

There is only one type of sorrow that GOD wants us to experience. Where sin gives us a life filled with sorrow and regret.

GOD wants us to experience a sorrow that will lead us away from sin and result in salvation. There is no regret for that kind of sorrow. 2 Corinthians 7:10

When GOD informs us to forget our past; what HE is desiring for us to forget is the anger and the pain that caused us to do those things that filled our lives with regret.

Forgetting the past and looking to what lies ahead; I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which GOD through JESUS is calling us. Philippians 3:13-14

I told you now I have the scripture to back it up, ha-ha.

I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins. Hebrews 8:12
