The LORD reigns, HE is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed, HE has girded HIMSELF with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. YOUR throne is established from of old; YOU are from everlasting.
Right out the gate King David expresses that the LORD reigns. Which lets me know that if HE reigns; and HE does that HE must have a dominion; a kingdom; a realm and a rule. King David also informs us that the LORD is wearing dignity, glory, greatness, honor and nobility. Not only this but King David is speaking of none other than CHRIST JESUS because he undoubtedly understood from the Holy Spirit many years before JESUS was born that JESUS is the Supreme Ruler of everything. Then King David lets us know that JESUS is not a wimp but is surrounded and enclosed in strength. Everywhere HE turns there is strength; HE is always ready for action and there is security in HIS strength. Because strength encircles HIM; we are secure in HIS keeping HIS promise to us that we can do all things in CHRIST JESUS who strengthens us. And lastly we are told that the throne of JESUS was established in the beginning and that it is eternal. Wow, how great is that; to know that the FATHER has given all power to HIS SON, the LORD from heaven, who has made atonement for our sins. HE not only can pardon, but deliver and protect all who trust in HIM. HIS word is spoken, and all the saints may rely upon it. Whatever was foretold concerning the kingdom of the MESSIAH, must be fulfilled in due time. All HIS people must be pure. GOD’s church is HIS house; it is a holy house, cleansed from sin, and employed in HIS service. Where there is purity, there shall be peace. So just where is this kingdom? The kingdom of the LORD is set up in our hearts.
