Responsibility

Accountable; answerable; chargeable; dependable and reliable.

These are the characteristics of a person who is responsible. In the book of Genesis when we read about the fall of man; you will notice how Adam took no responsibility for his actions in our doom. The charge was never given to Eve and yet Adam had the nerve to tell GOD that it was “The woman whom YOU gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”

He took no responsibility for his sin. I would like to think that had Adam been honest and told GOD all that happened and had Adam simply been deeply wounded in his heart about his disobedience towards GOD and asked GOD to forgive him; GOD would have forgiven him. Now I don’t know about staying in Eden but maybe this world would not be crumbling under the sin of man. Because with each generation sin becomes more and more brazen.

The jails are filled with people who will not take responsibility for their crimes. In our homes we witness our families living lives of not taking responsibility for which they are or why they are the way they are. There are too many family secrets going on in the house and because no one speaks of them; the secrets manifest themselves into what you dare not speak of. So you have Johnny wanting to be Susie and Susie wanting to be Johnny. There is alcohol and drug addiction in just about every home as well. Who will take responsibility in the family?

I don’t know if kids still use this excuse when they are not doing as well in school as they should. “My teacher does not like me”. What does that have to do with anything? The teacher does not get paid to like anyone. The teacher gets paid for teaching you and spending quality time with the child or children after school or during recess that want to learn and realize that he or she require more time than class to grasp a better understanding of the subject.

What’s your excuse for not attending church either on Sunday or during the nights of Bible Study? It’s none of your business what the other members of the church are doing and it’s none of your business what a Pastor at another church is doing. It is your responsibility to your own salvation. You complain about from the pulpit to the door the people are not right. Then you need to drag yourself right up in the place because neither are you.

If we spent 12 hours a day working on ourselves to become CHRISTians or better CHRISTians by accepting JESUS; reading the Word of GOD; study the Word of GOD; applying the Word of GOD to our lives and watch as our minds become renewed and our heart is transplanted and our walk is no longer heading towards trouble but we are heading towards being a blessing in the lives of others. We will notice that we have become people of accountability; answerable; chargeable; dependable and reliable to do the right things in life instead of the wrong things in life.

Show yourself that you can be a positive responsible person; others will begin to take notice of the change.

To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have abundance. From those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Matthew 25:29
