Doubt

Apprehensive; fear or hesitate to believe.

Wow; aren’t these the very things that GOD said not to be?

Another word for apprehension is “worry”.

Matthew 6:25; 27; 28; 31 & 34.

Mark 4:40; Luke 12:5 “fear”

Another way of saying hesitates to believe is “nonbelief”.

2 Corinthians 6:15; 1 Peter 4:3-4

There is a small difference with having uncertainty and having doubt.

When one is uncertain it’s largely due to the fact that we don’t have all the facts to a situation.

When one is in doubt it’s because we have all the information; however; we choose to ignore what we have been armed with according to that knowledge and rebel towards what it is that we really want.

Here are some great examples I witnessed in my life.

  • An owner of a vehicle is warned on his dashboard that it’s time to have his engine checked. He ignores the warning light. Because of this there are other things that will go wrong under the bonnet of the automobile because all the mechanical parts have to work harder than necessary. When the driver is forced to take the automobile to a mechanic it’s because the vehicle has stopped operating and now the vehicle has to be towed.

This person operated in doubt; he did not believe that his vehicle would have further problems nor that it would stop running due to neglect.

Another scenario that I’ve witnessed was.

  • During times of rain; a home owner noticed that water was being heard on the ceiling in a manner that was not noticeable before. As a precautionary measure the home owner called a roofer to take a look at his roof. Good thing too; there was a soft spot on the roof that could have created major problems had the home owner not used good judgment.

This person operated in uncertainty; however, the homeowner used facts that water could be heard clearly.

As you grow in grace you may feel uncertain about GOD; realign yourself with these scriptures.

Blessed are those who trust in The LORD and have made The LORD their hope and confidence. Jeremiah 17:7

We are always confident; for we live by faith and not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:6-7

Some of us have moments where we lack confidence in you. Stop that because JESUS has confidence in you.

I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, “May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,” and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.

Matthew 21:21-22
