Made in GOD’s Likeness
Genesis 1:27
So GOD created man in HIS own image; in the image of GOD HE created him; male and female HE created them.
One of the largest misconceptions of people is that they believe; that they come from apes. The Bible clearly informs every reader that humans were created in the image of GOD not in the image of an animal that also was created by GOD as written in The Word of GOD.
GOD has Personality:
Personality is the sum total of the physical, mental, emotional, and social characteristics of an individual. The organized pattern of behavioral characteristics of the individual.
When reading about GOD in the Bible you will notice that our personality derives from HIS personality.
GOD is Spirit:
HE is this same spirit that breathes life into our nostrils daily. HE is the same spirit that regenerates our spirit to live. HE is the same Spirit that teaches us and will guide us into all truth about JESUS.
GOD is original:
We are the copies; we are limited but GOD is not.
“GOD formed man from the dirt/dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life”. Genesis 2:7
Ever noticed that when the breath is gone so is the spirit. Here is another way for you to look at this. When you put your clothes on; the clothes become animated because they are on you and you are in them. Remove the clothes and the clothes are lifeless. That’s what happens when the spirit has left your flesh; the animation is no longer in the flesh which clothes the spirit.
GOD refers to HIMSELF as “US” in Genesis 1:26. Why?
Because HE is a HOLY Trinity. Think of it this way; GOD the creator of all called a board meeting. In this meeting were JESUS and The Holy Spirit; GOD said “let US make man in OUR image; according to OUR likeness”.
Now we can’t appreciate this until we know who is the image and likeness of the US and the OUR.
“There are 3 that bear witness in heaven; The FATHER; The WORD and The Holy Spirit and these 3 are 1. 1 John 5:7
“There are 3 that bear witness on the earth; The Spirit; The Water and The Blood and these 3 agree as 1. 1 John 5:8
Do you realize that we are 3 also; we are a spirit just as GOD is The Spirit; we are made up of 65% water and 10 pints of blood; recognize the resemblance? Let’s go a wee bit further.
GOD is The FATHER 1 John 3:1
JESUS is The WORD John 1:1-4; 10 & 14
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of GOD who teaches Acts 1:4-5; John 14:26
Now though we are created in the image of GOD; do you realize that we do not belong to GOD until we accept JESUS? We are not the children of GOD until we believe in JESUS for who HE was and is. We must confess our sins and that JESUS is. JESUS made it very plain in John 8:42-44
Nicodemus had to face this as well John 3:1-21
