Fruitfulness

Have any of you ever asked yourself these questions?

  • What am I doing that’s worthy?
  • How can I be a better person?
  • Why am I here?

I would like to think that some of the questions that we ask of ourselves and of others are really questions about the fruit that we bear.

When we remember what GOD has commanded us in Genesis; when HE said to man; “be fruitful and multiply”. We think that HE was speaking about populating the world by having children. Not necessarily so. I believe that HE was also speaking about grow abundantly in HIS spirit and populate with many fruit.

Here is an example: An apple is just one seed. However, we are not looking with the eye of GOD; we are not seeing its ability to populate. Yes, the seed is one; however, the seed has many apples within it that will come from one tree. Did you catch that? One seed; one tree; many fruit!

It’s the same with us; one seed Jesus. Then there is us; one person. We are to bear many fruit which comes from the fruit of the spirit.

Simply put; you can’t plant an apple tree and get apples; oranges; lemons and so forth. One seed many fruit.

We come from good seed and we are to produce good results; which is beneficial and profitable. We are to abound in the spirit of GOD and with living in HIS spirit we are abounding in HIS fruit. From this we are bearing fruit abundantly. We will produce an abundant growth.

Let’s take a look at Galatians 5:22; notice how it begins with “the fruit of the Spirit”. One Spirit many fruit. If you took the time to look up each word found in this scripture you will begin to notice the abundance of all nine words. It is no longer looked at as a fruit; you should now see an orchard. For those of you who like me love to study and dig into the marrow of a subject. You will find that to better understand why and who we are to be in our character and integrity. You will want to delve into the deepest recesses for greater understanding. Look at this scripture. The godly will flourish like a palm tree. Psalm 92:12

If you have never seen a palm tree; how can you understand the flourishing of it?

Another scripture: Vine and branches; John 15:5

Why does JESUS call HIMSELF a vine and HE considers us to be branches? A vine winds itself around an object and holds fast with tendrils; which is used to support.  It’s a stem which in this case informs us that we are in a line of descendants in a family.  We are branches because we come from the main stem; a member of JESUS family linage.

This is why we want to be used by GOD. The godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. They are transplanted to the LORDS own house. They flourish in the courts of our GOD. In old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. Psalm 92:12-14

I AM the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in ME, and I in them, will produce much fruit. John 15:5
