For you are a holy people to the LORD your GOD; the LORD your GOD has chosen you to be a people for HIMSELF, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The LORD did not set HIS Love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD Loves you, and because HE would keep the oath which HE swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. “Therefore know that the LORD your GOD, HE is GOD, the faithful GOD who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love HIM and keep HIS commandments;
There is nothing in us to recommend or entitle us to this favor; we are bull headed and rebellious. GOD has HIS own reason purely from HIMSELF for HIMSELF. HE Loves us because HE Love us, no other reason. It’s good in HIS eyes that HE be our FATHER. All that GOD Loves HE Loves freely, we have nothing in us and there is nothing that we can do that could make GOD a debtor to us. So HE made HIMSELF a debtor to HIS own promise, which HE would perform even in our unworthiness. The LORD GOD is not like the gods of the nations, creatures that were created by HIM that we uphold as a god. No, HE is GOD, GOD indeed, GOD alone, the faithful GOD, able and ready not only to fulfill HIS own promises, but to answer all the just expectations of HIS worshippers. HE keep covenant and mercy, HE will show mercy according to covenant, to those that love HIM and keep HIS commandments. This is what salvation is all about; HIS Love for mankind. As long as we remain in the clutches of the King Pharaoh in Egypt; we will remain slaves. In other words sin is enslavement and Pharaoh is whatever we worship; he’s our false god and Egypt is that dry, hot barren place where we think we are doing okay but in essence we are slaves and dying. The LORD GOD wants to bring us all out of Egypt; HE has opened the gates and shown us the way out from bondage. Instead of singing let my people go—get out! And stay out; serve the true and living KING; the KING of Kings. Live in the land flowing with milk and honey; bask in true love and enjoy the covenant that the LORD GOD has for us. Never look back at the life we once experienced in Egypt unless we are using it as a tool to help another who is stuck there. Pharaoh has no power because he is dead. GOD has given us power through CHRIST JESUS; all we have to do is hear; believe and accept.
