Love – Psalm 11:4-5

HIS eyelids test the sons of men. The LORD tests the righteous,

GOD perfectly knows every man’s true character. HIS eyes behold, HIS eye-lids try the children of men. HE not only sees us, but HE sees through us, this is what is meant by the test of HIS eyelids. HE knows all that we say and all that we do. HE knows what we think and what we design, and how we really stand, whatever we pretend to be. We may know what people seem to be, but the LORD GOD knows who we truly are. GOD is said to try (test) with HIS eyes, and HIS eye-lids, because HE knows the heart of people, not as earthly men, by report and representation, but by HIS own strict inspection. This may comfort us when we are deceived by all walks of people, even the people that we think we have tried. GOD’s judgment of people is sure, and according to HIS truth. In many cases when we are being tested by the LORD GOD we will know if we have passed or failed a test. In most cases it involves people; and depending on the outcome of what we have said or done in a situation, the LORD will show us that we have passed the test by being compassionate, helpful and loving. The LORD GOD will also show us how we failed by showing how we could have been during this situation. And if you are anything like me; when you fail a test, you say to yourself; wow, I could have done this or that and you will be more alert the next time. But to understand what is meant by when the LORD test the righteous; we must first comprehend that the LORD GOD will never tempt us. There is a vast difference between being tested and tempted. First, to be tested by the LORD GOD is a wonderful thing because it’s to show just how far we have to go or we’ve come in HIM. When GOD provides a test and we fail; we will be tested again and again until we pass the test. The test is usually done in a sense of “trial or examination to determine the correctness; to ascertain the worth, capability, or endurance of a person. In most tests given by GOD it is to show you the individual who you are in CHRIST JESUS and what you can accomplish in CHRIST JESUS. A good reference to this is found here in Deuteronomy 8:16 nkjv “that HE might humble you and that HE might test you, to do you good in the end”. To be tempted is always done by the enemy and his motive is to entice and allure us to do something often regarded as unwise, wrong, or immoral. He will always seduce use with what we have already experienced and no longer desire to do or with what we really want to experience but for whatever reason have not given into as yet. It is his mission to push and talk us into doing what pleases him and that will cause us temporary pleasure but in the long run will destroy us.
