Mary

9781845501686You know Mary is too highly exalted among some and not respected enough among others. And that’s because Mary is not clearly understood for her role as written clearly in the Word of GOD.

Come with me as we discover this most highly favored woman among all women in the sight of the Highest GOD.

Luke 1:26

Begins with Gabriel visiting Mary and the first thing Gabriel says to Mary is this; “Rejoice, highly favored one, The LORD is with you; blessed are you among women!” Gabriel acknowledges that Mary is favored and blessed but not only is she that because we all are who are in CHRIST JESUS but she more so. Meaning, she outranks us women.

I like this; Mary was troubled at what Gabriel had said trying to figure out what did he mean by what he had said. She did not think that she was any different from any other woman among those in her camp; or any other woman who had come long before her.

When Mary asked Gabriel; “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” It was not in disbelief; her question was based on innocence and reminding Gabriel that she is a virgin. Virgins are not preoccupied with thoughts of sex.

The moment Mary used The LORD she invoked the attention of JESUS. I believe the moment she said The LORD she was baptized in the Holy Spirit with the child JESUS. When you want to get the attention of JESUS you must acknowledge that HE is The LORD. This is why Gabriel had no need to remain any longer; the moment Gabriel heard Mary say The LORD he knew that his message had been well received.

This further backs up the claim; the moment Elizabeth heard the voice of Mary; Elizabeth’s baby jumped within her womb; he was baptized in the Holy Spirit and so was his mother Elizabeth.

Now for those of you who proclaim to be CHRISTian; who say that you are saved. I say good; you need to be saved and I’m happy that you are saved but I’m here to give you witness that you need to baptized in the Holy Spirit because you are sitting back on your testimony. You are quiet; you are facing life’s difficult situations as we all do and you are frustrated by them all; you are living a defeated life; you go to church and you smile and then you act like you are a citizen of hell. Some of you are saved and are still battling depression, oppression, addictions, and suicidal thoughts; so forth and so on. You need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit; if you read the entire chapter of Luke 1 you will see that Zacharias and Elizabeth was just going through the pretense of a relationship they were keeping and doing all the right things but there was no intimacy with The Highest GOD. Not until they were baptized with the Holy Spirit.

So here comes Mary, and Elizabeth who has just been filled with the Holy Spirit; speaking aloud. You see; the Holy Spirit will not allow you to keep the testimony of JESUS to yourself. Elizabeth acknowledges Mary with these sayings.

  • Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my LORD should come to me?  For indeed; as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

  • Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from The LORD.”

Take notice of the following; no one told Elizabeth that Mary was pregnant and no one told Elizabeth that Mary was pregnant with JESUS. We don’t need to be told anything by humans when we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us; HE will tell us everything we need to know. This is how Elizabeth knew. Notice also that the Holy Spirit brings joy. We are still going to face life’s difficult situations in life but what makes them different is that now we are not facing them alone and we can face them with joy.

From Mary we see that the Holy Spirit causes her to acknowledge the following.

  • Her soul magnifies The LORD
  • Her spirit rejoices in her GOD (JESUS); her Savior
  • The Highest GOD took notice of her
  • Recognizes that HIS name is holy
  • Recognizes that HE is merciful

So we all must give Mary the mother of JESUS the respect that she is properly due. Is she to be prayed to? NO. Is she a god? NO. Mary was a virgin girl who was a sinner just like us all who was in desperate need of a Savior just like all of us. The Highest GOD saw something about her; what I don’t know. All I know is that.

  • She was worth housing the Savior of the world.
  • She could be trusted to nurse the Savior of the world.
  • She could be trusted to mother the Savior of the world.
  • She could be trusted to love the Savior of the world.
  • She could be trusted to protect the Savior of the world.
  • She could be trusted to nurture the Savior of the world.
