MOTIVES

What are you thinking when you decide to do something nice for someone?

Are you like Janet Jackson who asked the question two decades ago; “What have you done for me lately?”

Do you lOOk to boost your own ego by telling others what you’ve done?

Worse yet are you looking for money?

Everything we do; say and think is never hidden from GOD. It does not matter how clever you maybe to the point of fooling another human. You cannot and you will not ever fool GOD.

We must at all times check the incentive as to why we do or say a thing. Your motives matter to GOD; it’s the central nerve to our character. Our motives reveal to others who we really are from the heart. There is no escaping that. Just as the Word of GOD tells us that “out of the heart the mouth speaks” so it is with our motives. You can’t take back what you said and you can’t take back what you do or think. It’s you, the real you. This is why it’s so very important to renew our minds daily with the Word of GOD. We have got to stop that stinking thinking; we have got to get the Word of GOD deep down into our hearts.

I, The LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve. Jeremiah 17:10

When your actions are motivated by love alone; it does not matter to you who knows what you’ve done and you are not lOOking for anyone to acknowledge what you’ve done for them. However, if the people you’ve helped publically acknowledge your kindness that’s acceptable. Always make sure that your incentive to do, say or think is always linked to your love for GOD and others.

Pure and genuine relationship in the sight of GOD The FATHER means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27

What you do and or say can become questionable. If you don’t want to be viewed badly by others; question yourself to make sure as to why you are doing a thing or saying something. No one can read a mind; however, there are those that GOD will provide the ability to see you for who you are. So be cautious of your thoughts.

The LORD says, “These people say they are MINE. They honor ME with their lips, but their hearts are far from ME. Their worship of ME is nothing but man-made rules learned by habit.” What sorrow awaits those who try to hide their plans from The LORD, who do their evil deeds in the dark? Isaiah 29:13-15
