The Difference Between Being

Father and Daddy

About My FATHER’s Business evangelistic Ministry is a ministry that reaches out to people to evangelize to those souls who are lost [in sin] and to invite them to receive the free gift of JESUS The CHRIST, our MESSIAH. We also encourage, inform, and inspire everyone who follows, is introduced, searches, or by divine intervention by the Holy Spirit causes our readers to stay with us.

Admittingly, I am sharing with you the longest blog I have ever written for your edification. However, it has been my observation that fatherhood is not a characteristic that is taught among our children. So, when our young males grow up to become fathers they do not understand the privilege they have in being a daddy. It is with my tender heart that I have captured for you what it means to be a father and a daddy to your children.

As we know June 19th is Father’s Day and every person on this great planet of ours should be celebrating our daddies. Now, you have read that sentence and said to yourself or thought; “but I have no father, I do not know my father, my father is deceased, or my father is no good”. This may be true but we all have a Heavenly FATHER, that is those of us who are Born-Again through JESUS and HE is to be appreciated through worship daily, not just once a year in the form of Easter and CHRISTmas.

Below I will be providing you with scriptures that every male or man hopefully will grab ahold of and learn what your role is in being a daddy because if you have a child or children, you already are a father. The question is, what type of father are you? Also, included will be scriptures that will show you the type of FATHER and DADDY that we have who has created everything good which includes you.

These next verses of scripture will have more than one translation because I am trying to get it into your heart what we all must do. So, I encourage you to read each translation provided.

Exodus 20:12 AMPC: This is a promise to you.

Regard (treat with honor, due obedience, and courtesy) your father that your days may be long [you may live a long life].

Leviticus 19:3 ICB:

Each person among you must respect his or her father.

Deuteronomy 1:29-31, 5:16, 6:6-9 NKJV, AMPC, CEB, CJB

Don’t be frightened. Don’t be afraid of those people. The LORD your GOD will go ahead of you. HE will fight for you as HE did in Egypt [EX. 14]. You saw HIM do it. And in the desert, you saw how the LORD your GOD carried you. HE was like a man [who is a father and daddy] carrying his son or daughter.

Honor your father [exactly] as the LORD your GOD has commanded [requires, ordered] you, that your days may be long [prolonged, and that it may be well with you.

You shall teach [whet, speak] them diligently [sharpen, make them penetrate, impress, carefully] to [the minds and hearts of] your children,

Joshua 1:9, 24:15 NKJV, AMPC, CEV, CJB, ICB

Be [daddies] strong [vigorous, brave] and of good courage; do not be afraid, [alarmed] nor be dismayed [terrified, downhearted], for the LORD your GOD is with you wherever you go.

[*Daddies] if it seems evil [wrong, bad] to you [your opinion] to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether false gods which your fathers [ancestors] served or *ME.

Maybe you don’t want to serve the LORD. You must choose for yourselves today. You must decide whom you will serve. *Are you going to continue to serve the gods/false idols/satan that your people worshiped, or will you serve ME?

Psalms 51:55, 86:5, 103:13, 106:36-39, 127:3-5 ICB, AMPC, CEV, NKJV

The LORD has mercy [compassion, loves, and pities] on those who fear [honor, reverence, worship, awe] HIM, as a father has mercy [compassion, love, and pities] on his children.

YOU, LORD, [*FATHER, DADDY, father, daddy] are good, and ready to forgive, [trespasses, sending them far away, letting them go completely forever] and abundant in mercy [loving kindness, faithful love, full of grace] to all those who call upon YOU.

As a father loves and pities [mercy, feels compassion for] his children, the LORD loves, and pities [mercy, feels compassion for] those who fear [reverence, worship, and awe] HIM.

No doubt about it, children are a heritage [gift] from the LORD. Happy [blessed] is the man [father, daddy] who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed.

Proverbs 3:11-12, 4:1, 13:24, 14:26, 15:5, 19:18, 20:7, 22:6, 23:22, 24 NKJV, AMPC, CEV, CJB, ICB

Do not despise [shrink away, reject] the chastening [correction by punishment, subjection to minor suffering or trial, discipline] of the LORD, [FATHER] nor detest [become weary, impatient, loathe, abhor, hate, resent, angry] of HIS correction [reproof]; for whom the LORD [FATHER] loves HE corrects. [just as our earthly father is to be and do].

Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give [pay] attention to know [gain] understanding [intelligent discernment, comprehension, and interpretation of spiritual matters, insight]. [This is an earthly father, a daddy speaking]

He [an earthly father, an earthly daddy] who spares [withholds, fails to use, does not punish] his rod [discipline, stick, belt, paddle] hates his son *or daughter, but he who loves him *or her [applies, careful] disciplines [corrects] to him *or her promptly. [This verse of scripture has nothing to do with being abusive. Abuse is not to be applied ever]

A person who respects [reverent and worshipful] the LORD [The FATHER] will have security [strong confidence, powerful]. And HIS children will be protected [refuge, place of safety]. [All children are to have respect for their fathers because they are protected by their daddy]

A foolish person rejects his *or her father’s correction. But anyone who accepts [receives heeds, regards reproof, acquires, warnings] correction is wise.

*Fathers correct your son *or daughter while there is still hope. Do not [set your heart on destruction, indulge your angry resentments by undue chastening, plan to kill, get so angry that you kill] help he *or she destroy himself *or herself. [Fathers, you can spiritually kill your children with your words and actions, most often what your children become is on you].

The righteous [fathers who have JESUS within the heart] live with integrity [honest]; happy [blessed, fortunate, enviable] are their children who come after them.

*Fathers, train up a child in the way he *or she should go [and in keeping with his *or her individual gift or bent], and when he *or she is old he *or she will not depart from it. [Fathers, what this is helping you to understand is that if your child says her or she desires to be this or that. You are to encourage that even if they change their minds and they may. Buy them things that will introduce them and perpetuate what it is that they say they want to be when they grow up. Introduce them to people who are doing what it is they say they want to be. Go on tours with those people who are living the life your child desires to live].

Listen to your fathers who gave you life. [Fathers, you must teach your children to listen to you and you cannot do this if you are not there to be their daddy]

The father of the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright, in right standing with GOD) shall greatly rejoice, and he who becomes the father of a wise child shall have joy in him.

Matthew 1:16-2:23, 7:11, 23:9, 15

Notice that in the chapters of Matt. 1 and 2 when you read them at your leisure, you will find that nowhere is the title applied to Joseph is Step-Father or Adopted-Father. Joseph was just daddy to JESUS. JESUS is the Beloved and Begotten SON of The FATHER who is The Almighty GOD. Joseph was told this from the onset of his responsibilities as being the earthly daddy not father but daddy to JESUS. Joseph did not treat JESUS any differently from the children that he and Mary eventually had together. As far as Joseph was concerned JESUS was his eldest Son and he brought JESUS up and taught JESUS the family business. Joseph provided for JESUS’s earthly needs, Joseph did what a daddy is supposed to do with his children. And no one knew that Joseph was not the father of JESUS as a matter of fact if you will take the time to read the gospels, you will find where people asked, “Is this not the son of Joseph” John 6:42?

Even though you *fathers are bad [evil, sinful], you know how to give good gifts to your children. So surely your heavenly FATHER will give good things to those who ask HIM. Here JESUS is making the distinction between earthly fathers who are not Born-Again and the Almighty GOD. Earthly fathers who are daddies will provide for their children; they will give them things that they ask for as well as surprise them with gifts. All because daddies desire to see their children smile. If an earthly father is Born-Again, he leans on his heavenly FATHER to provide for the needs as well as the wants of children. An earthly father who is guided by his heavenly FATHER is proof that they are in a relationship and that the father does not look towards The FATHER through religion.

Do not call anyone on earth ‘Father.’ because you have one FATHER, and HE is in heaven.

Here JESUS was explaining to the crowd that HE was speaking with as well as HIS disciples that they are forbidden to ascribe [attribute, credit] the title of father to their spiritual care [that is, the founder, author, director, and governor]. We too are forbidden to call any man father in whatever denomination [religion] who credits the title father onto themselves out of pride and unlearned of the scriptures. The fathers of our flesh however are to be called fathers, and as such we must give them reverence; [honor, respect] but GOD only must be allowed as the FATHER of our spirits. And this is only true once we have given HIM our whole heart by way of faith in HIS SON JESUS.

“Woe to you, scribes [a note taker, write from dictation, copyist, penman, one who writes, writer, but not an author] and Pharisees [whose religion consisted in strict observance of rites and ceremonies and the traditions of the elders, and whose pretended holiness led them to separate themselves as a sect, considering themselves as more righteous than other Jews], hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte [A new convert to some religion or religious sect], and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell [satan is the father of hell] as yourselves.

Any religious denomination or person that does not preach, teach, and live by example as your shepherd or shepherdess the truth of the Word of the Gospel/Word of JESUS/Gospel of JESUS; is leading you into hell as they are going. They are teaching you information to soothe your itching ears by whatever your father, satan is instructing them to give to you, 2 Tim.4:3.

Luke15:11-32 ICB

This verse of scripture is too lengthy to provide as I had the others. We find a father who has a son that decides he wants his inheritance now so that he may go off and live life as he desires. Nowhere in the scripture will we find the father badmouthing the son who decides to live a life of rebellion. However, the father in his hurting heart had to been praying for his son to return and each day he looked to see if his son was coming back home. When that day arrived, the father saw his beloved son afar and ran to him with open arms, embracing and kissing his son. This is an example of forgiveness, grace, love, and mercy. This is a great example of how fathers are daddies. This father’s prayers were answered by The FATHER and his beloved son returned and was celebrated. Fathers instead of bad-mouthing the wrongs that your children will do and being full of pride. Correct them through discipline and pray to the FATHER for guidance.

John 1:14, 3:6, 16-17, 4:24, 20:17 ICB, AMPC, CJB

The Word [CHRIST] became a Man [human] and lived among us. We saw HIS glory—the glory [HIS honor, HIS majesty] that belongs to the only Son [begotten; only a father can beget] of the FATHER. The Word was full of grace and truth.

There are many fathers but few daddies. The FATHER of JESUS was both FATHER and DADDY. Joseph was JESUS’s earthly daddy because he provided and instructed JESUS with earthen needs. But The DADDY of JESUS provided JESUS with Spiritual needs.

A person’s body is born from his human parents. But a person’s spiritual life is born from the Spirit.

From the time Adam and Eve became the parents of children, nothing has changed. We all come from the actions that our fathers and mothers did to make us through their effort. That is flesh makes flesh. But The FATHER is Spirit so HE can only make us in HIS image and that is spirit, Gen. 1:26. For The FATHER to become our FATHER we must be made in THEIR image [FATHER, SON, Holy Ghost] The Three are One, 1 John 5:7. We must be Born-Again, John 3:7 and 1 Peter 1:23.

GOD so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that HE [even] gave up HIS only begotten SON, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) HIM [HIS SON] shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost, put into hell and the lake of fire) but have eternal (everlasting) life. GOD did not send the SON into the world to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through HIM.

When I read this verse of scripture, I read it in this manner: GOD loves me so much that HE gave me HIS only begotten SON JESUS, and I am required to believe in HIM. By doing this I gain access to my heavenly FATHER, the FATHER of JESUS. I am promised and I receive the promise of eternal life. I am no longer subject to being condemned and punished in the pit of hell and the lake of fire.

JESUS said, “I AM going back to MY FATHER, and your FATHER, I AM going back to my GOD and your GOD”.

HE is only our FATHER when we confess that JESUS is who HE said that HE is and by faith, we receive HIM in our hearts. The FATHER is Spirit so in HIS image we must be spirit as well. Just as JESUS returned to heaven, we too will go to heaven to be with our GOD, our LORD, our Savior, and HIS Holy Spirit. We will be in the presence of our ONE and ONLY True and Living GOD. Our FATHER. We can not see HIM now, but HE does reside within our hearts. Just as JESUS said while here on earth The FATHER and I are one, HE is in the FATHER, and we are in the FATHER as well. And the FATHER is within us. JESUS is within us and the Holy Spirit should be within us.

Romans 2:9, 8:15 AMPC, CEV, CJB, ICB

The Spirit which you have now received is not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit [the Spirit producing sonship, shows and proves our adoption, made sons, children of the Living GOD] of adoption [the very same rights as one who is biologically begotten of a father]  in [the bliss of] which we cry, ABBA (FATHER)!

As a non-believer in JESUS, we have dead spirits, and we are slaves to sin. One of our rewards for being obedient to our sinful father satan is to fear. But when we become children of the Living GOD by faith in JESUS, we will have a right to proclaim that The Almighty GOD is our FATHER as well. And fear will no longer have reign in our lives.

1 Corinthians 8:6 ICB

For us, there is only One GOD. HE is our FATHER.

For the true believer in CHRIST JESUS, our allegiance is to The Only True and Living GOD and HE alone is our Supreme FATHER.

2 Corinthians 6:18 CJB

In fact, “I will be your FATHER, and you will be MY sons and daughters”, says Adonai-Tzva’ot [LORD Almighty].

What a great confirmation from The FATHER to us. None of us can have multiple fathers but we shamefully can have multiple daddies. Is it not wonderful that GOD is the True FATHER of our spirit?

Ephesians 6:1,4 CJB, AMPC

Children, what you should do in union with the LORD is obey your parents, for this is right.

There is no age stipulation here. Meaning, we may be adults but just as we were minor-aged children we are to obey our parents [father and mother] we must obey them as we do our heavenly FATHER, because this is the right thing to do.

Fathers do not irritate and provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to resentment] but rear them [tenderly] in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the LORD.

Colossians 3:21 ICB, NKJV, CEV, CJB

Fathers [*daddies] do not nag [provoke, irritate, fret, be hard with them, harass] your children. If you are too hard to please, they may want to stop trying and will become [discouraged, sullen, morose, inferior, frustrated, developed a broken spirit, resentful].

Fathers [daddies] you may need to review how you are with your children.

1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 ICB

You know that we treated each of you as a father [*daddy] treats his own children. We strengthened you, we comforted you, and we told you to live good lives for GOD. It is GOD who calls you to HIS glorious kingdom.

Daddies, your responsibility to your children is to exhort, personally stimulate, encourage, charge, and appeal, among other encouraging things. Do not just tell your children but be an example to your children.

Hebrews 12:5-11 ICB

Daddies, Hebrews 12 is a very lengthy scripture and I suggest that at your leisure you read it.

James 1:17 ICB

Every good action and every perfect gift is from GOD. These good gifts come down from the [FATHER] The Creator.

Daddies just as our heavenly FATHER provides good gifts to HIS children do likewise with yours.

1 John 3:1 NKJV, AMPC, CEV, CJB, ICB

Behold what manner of love [incredible quality] the FATHER has bestowed [shown, given, lavished] on us, that we should be [permitted to be named], called children of GOD!

A true father who is a daddy and loves will never deny his children.
